Certifications

AAMVA University offers the following certification courses:

• Fraudulent Document Recognition (FDR) Instructor Certification 
• Vehicle Document Examiner Certification (VDEC) Instructor
• Vehicle Document Examiner Certification (VDEC)

Fraudulent Document Recognition (FDR) Instructor Certification is based upon AAMVA's course development that is protected by United States copyright laws. In order to be eligible for this certification, participants must successfully complete the FDR Level II 4-day classroom course.

This five-day, instructor-led classroom course provides participants with:

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities to deliver the FDR curriculum to all staff within the department and/or agency in which they are employed.
• A comprehensive Instructor's Guide to deliver the course.

The Vehicle Document Examiner Certification (VDEC) Instructor course is also based upon AAMVA's course development that is protected by United States copyright laws. In order to be eligible for this certification, participants must successfully complete the VDEC 2-day classroom course.

This four-day, instructor-led classroom course provides participants with:

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities to deliver the VDEC curriculum to all staff within the department and/or agency in which they are employed.
• A detailed Instructor's Guide to deliver the course.

The Vehicle Document Examiner Certification (VDEC) course is also based upon AAMVA's course development that is protected by United States copyright laws. In order to be eligible for this certification, participants must have one year's experience in the identification of fraudulent documents.

This two-day, instructor-led classroom course provides participants with:

• The ability to identify fraudulent documents and prevent fraudulent activities.
• A detailed Participant's Guide.
